Many times Congress’s opponent BJP has also raised questions regarding Rahul Gandhi’s foreign tour. In the month of May this year, BJP had asked where did the Rs 60 crore spent on the 54 foreign trips made by Rahul Gandhi in the last 22 years come from? Stating that Rahul Gandhi’s total income is Rs 11 crore, BJP had raised questions that on whose expense does Rahul Gandhi keep going abroad? However, this time the issue is not the opposition but the crisis of his own party.

Many leaders including Charanjit Singh Channi have expressed their displeasure against keeping Amarinder Singh Raja Vading as the President of Punjab Congress. The reason for this was that Rahul Gandhi is not in the country, Sonia Gandhi no longer meets anyone regarding political matters and Priyanka Gandhi is still avoiding any kind of interference in this matter. Apart from Punjab, the second most important election is to be held in Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is repeatedly talking about fighting together, but the rhetoric of state level leaders, MPs and in-charges of Congress continues against SP. There is less than a year left for the elections and Congress has not yet given any clear opinion regarding the alliance. It is being said that Rahul Gandhi has to take this decision but he is out these days.

One such program took place in Kota, Rajasthan, but the programs in Prayagraj and other cities were postponed because Rahul Gandhi is abroad. Rahul Gandhi’s foreign tours on important occasions start after the formation of Modi government in 2014. After the defeat of Congress in 2014, the most important issue was the land law. Assembly elections were to be held in Haryana and Maharashtra in the year 2019 and just before that, Rahul Gandhi had gone abroad. Even in 2024, when assembly elections of these states were to be held, Rahul Gandhi went on a foreign tour.

Bihar assembly elections were to be held in 2025 and a few months ago Rahul Gandhi had gone on a foreign tour. In September 2025, Rahul Gandhi took out Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar and once again went on a foreign trip just before the elections. In that election, huge differences were seen between Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and it resulted in electoral defeat.

In such a situation, once again the absence of Rahul Gandhi has become a cause of trouble for the Congress. It is being said that Rahul Gandhi may return this time just before the start of the Parliament session. There are speculations that there may be a major reshuffle in the cabinet even before the Parliament session begins. If this happens and Dharmendra Pradhan’s ministry is also changed, then Rahul Gandhi may lose an opportunity and the credit for it may go to the cockroach Janata Party and Congress may miss out on its mileage.
