New Delhi: The Congress party has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over alleged corruption cases. The country’s main opposition party claimed that the Prime Minister’s famous slogan ‘Na Khaunga, Na Khane Dunga’ has proved to be completely hollow and in reality for him it has always been a situation of ‘Khaunga, Khane Dunga and Khiloonga’.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, while sharing a post on social media ‘X’, said that after taking charge of the country in May 2014, Prime Minister Modi had given this slogan against corruption. However, subsequent incidents have exposed the true reality of this claim to everyone. Ramesh also referred to the statement of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in which he had termed demonetisation as ‘organized loot and legalized loot’.

Jairam Ramesh made several serious allegations against the Central Government, saying that an attempt was made to suppress the alleged scam of Rs 20,000 crore by merging Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) with ONGC. Along with this, he termed the electoral bond scheme as a ‘donate, take business’ scam and alleged that it promoted corruption on a large scale in the country. He also cornered the government by citing the reports of Adani Group, Rafale deal, PM Cares Fund and Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

The Congress leader claimed that in the last few weeks, many such incidents have come to light which raise big questions on the anti-corruption claims of the government. He alleged that a case of misuse of offerings from Ram temple in Ayodhya has come to light. Moreover, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh continues to hold his post despite the Supreme Court ordering a CBI inquiry against him and no action has been taken against the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh despite allegations of giving alleged favors to his relatives.

Ramesh also alleged that opposition parties were being broken by giving them financial incentives. He said that a Minister of State in the Central Government continues to hold the post even after taking subsidy under the scheme of his own ministry. He also raised questions over the sudden removal of four close associates in the Environment Ministry. Ramesh alleged that an attempt is being made to benefit the family of a Union Minister from the decisions to E-20 petrol and the family members of the Delhi Chief Minister are playing an active role in the administration.

Targeting Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Congress leader alleged that during his tenure the examination system has become completely corrupt and compromised, which has dealt a deep blow to the future and hopes of crores of youth. Highlighting all these issues, Jairam Ramesh demanded an impartial investigation into all the cases and answers from the government. He claimed that Prime Minister Modi has given the country a system of ‘minimum governance, maximum curtain’.
