Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has shared his enthusiasm for mentoring the young batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who recently made history as the youngest player to don the Indian jersey. Having played a pivotal role in shaping Abhishek Sharma’s career, Yuvraj sees immense potential in the 15-year-old and believes that with the right guidance, he could shine as one of India’s brightest cricketing stars.
Sooryavanshi has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most thrilling young talents in the cricketing world. However, his first international series against England was a tough one, with scores of 14, 13, and 15 before he was left out of the playing XI. Despite these setbacks, he remains a promising long-term prospect for Indian cricket. His replacement, Sanju Samson, also faced challenges, contributing to India’s disappointing 0-4 series deficit and underscoring the team’s batting struggles.
Recently, Yuvraj attended the 2026 Wimbledon men’s singles final with Abhishek and Sooryavanshi. He shared a snapshot from the event, playfully referring to the trio as different generations of "Terminators."

Reflecting on the rise of fearless young Indian batters, Yuvraj expressed his belief in the potential of both Abhishek and Sooryavanshi, and he’s eager to help nurture the teenager’s talent in the coming years.
"I always call myself a Terminator. Abhishek Sharma is Terminator 4 because he is four times better than me. Then comes Terminator 6, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has taken it to another level. I contributed in my era, Abhishek raised the standard, and now Vaibhav is carrying the legacy forward," Yuvraj said as quoted by Odishatv.
"I have spent a lot of time working with Abhishek, and I would love to spend time with Vaibhav as well. He has a bright future ahead. He is developing into a serious cricketer, and I believe he has everything required to reach the highest level," he added.
For Sooryavanshi, meeting one of his childhood heroes was a moment to cherish. The young batter shared that Yuvraj offered invaluable advice on handling pressure, building mental toughness, and maintaining self-belief. Sooryavanshi expressed that the insights from the Punjab all-rounder would be crucial as he navigates his cricketing journey.
"Yuvi Paaji has always been one of my idols. Meeting him for the first time was very special. We spent time together, and he spoke about the mental side of cricket, dealing with pressure and believing in yourself. Learning from someone like him is a huge opportunity, and I'm sure it will benefit me going forward," Sooryavanshi said.
