India's teenage batting sensation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, had a memorable day away from the cricket field as he attended the Wimbledon 2026 men's singles final at Centre Court on Sunday, July 12. Sooryavanshi was joined by former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and India opener Abhishek Sharma during the prestigious event.
Dressed in a black blazer, white shirt, striped tie, and sunglasses, the youngster grabbed plenty of attention with his stylish appearance.
Vaibhav spoke about his admiration for Yuvraj Singh and revealed how valuable the former India star's guidance has been for his growth as a cricketer.
"Woh mere idol bhi hain. Jab main unse pehli baar mila tha toh bahut achha laga tha. Maine unse kaafi baatein ki thi aur unhone mujhe bahut kuch samjhaya bhi. Ab unse itna kuch seekhne ko mil raha hai aur future ke liye bhi yeh mere liye bahut achha rahega [He is my idol. When I met him for the first time, it felt really special. I had a lot of conversations with him, and he explained many things to me. I'm learning so much from him now, and I believe it will help me a lot in the future as well]," he said during an interaction with Star Sports.
The youngster has often spoken about looking up to senior players, and spending time with Yuvraj at one of the biggest sporting events in the world made the occasion even more memorable.
Apart from sharing his experience with Yuvraj, Vaibhav also revealed that his appearance at Wimbledon was put together at the last minute. The youngster admitted that he had very little time to prepare and credited Abhishek Sharma for helping him with his outfit.
"Nahi kuch kiya nahi, but jaldi jaldi mein bas jo mila mujhe mein maine Abhishek bhai se bolke arrange karaya aur daal kar aaya hu. (I didn't plan anything; whatever I could find in the last minute, I asked Abhishek and he got it arranged for me, and I just wore it)," Sooryavanshi laughed.
For the unversed, World No.1 Jannik Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev 6-7(7), 7-6(2), 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the Wimbledon title for the second time in a row.
