Arya and producers named in Jubilee Hills police complaint over 1.80 crore unpaid dues for 'Ananthan Kaadu' equipment

Tamil actor Arya finds himself in legal trouble as a cheating case was registered against him at the Jubilee Hills Police Station in Hyderabad. As per the latest reports, the complaint was filed by a camera equipment rental company.

Cheating case registered against AryaAs per a report by Gulte, the company which filed the complaint alleged that it did not receive the full payment for equipment rented for the film ‘Ananthan Kaadu’. Along with Arya, producer Vinod and representatives of the production house have also been named in the complaint. Police have now started an investigation into the matter.

Company claims large amount is still pendingThe complaint further suggests that Arya, producer Vinod and the production team hired high-end digital cameras, lighting units and other filming equipment for ‘Ananthan Kaadu’. The company mentioned that it was assured that all payments would be made on time without any delay. It also claimed that it transported the expensive equipment from Hyderabad to Kerala at its own cost and provided support during the entire shooting process.

After the film shoot was completed, the company alleged that more than Rs 1.80 crore was still unpaid out of the total amount of Rs 2.12 crore.


The rental company further stated that the makers accepted in writing that the due payment is yet to be made and promised to clear it before the film was released. However, the company said the promised payment was never made. They further sent multiple reminders through letters, phone calls and WhatsApp messages, but the amount remained unpaid.

After approaching the makers multiple times, the company finally decided to approach the police after it did not receive the money.

The complaint also alleged that Arya, producer Vinod and a personal assistant threatened the company’s manager when he asked for the pending payment. Based on the complaint, the Jubilee Hills Police registered a cheating case and started an investigation.
