Bullet Train Recruitment 2026: Recruitment for India's first bullet train, apply this way

The National High Speed ​​Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has invited online applications for 237 technician vacancies, giving candidates the opportunity to work on India's first high-speed rail (bullet train) project. The online registration process began on July 7, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official website until August 5, 2026.

NHSRCL is the government-owned company responsible for developing India's high-speed rail network. It is currently working on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed ​​Rail (MAHSR) corridor, the country's first bullet train project and one of India's largest railway infrastructure projects.

Vacancy Details

A total of 237 technician positions have been announced across various technical trades. Key vacancies include:

Electrical Technician – 77 Posts
Signalling & Telecom Technician – 63 Posts
Civil/Track Fitter – 18 Posts
Civil/Track Mechanic – 16 Posts
Rolling Stock Electrician – 13 Posts
Rolling Stock Fitter – 10 Posts

The recruitment notification also includes vacancies for various other technical trades such as draftsman, surveyor, welder, plumber, painter, and related posts.

Selected candidates may be posted anywhere under NHSRCL or Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed ​​Rail Project depending on the organizational needs.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have passed Matriculation/SSLC from a recognized board. They must also have an ITI certificate, apprenticeship training, or a three-year engineering diploma in the relevant trade.

Additionally, candidates must have at least two years of work experience in the operations and maintenance departments of Indian Railways, government railway organizations, metro rail systems, or Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) projects. Relevant experience or competency certificates must be submitted during the application process.

The maximum age limit mentioned in the official notification is 35 years.

Selection process

There are three stages in the recruitment process:

Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Document Verification
Medical Examination

Candidates who successfully qualify all three stages will be considered for final appointment. The examination schedule will be announced later on the official NHSRCL website.

Salary and Application Fee

Selected candidates will be appointed on an absorption basis under the NE-2 pay level. Monthly salaries range from ₹35,000 to ₹1,10,000, plus other applicable benefits. Newly appointed employees will also be required to complete a one-year probation period.

Candidates belonging to General, OBC and EWS categories will have to pay an application fee of ₹400, while SC, ST and female candidates are exempted from paying the fee.

After completing the registration process, applicants should fill out the online application form, upload the required documents, carefully verify all details, and submit the form before the deadline.

Candidates are advised to download and retain a copy of their submitted application form for future reference. The last date to apply online is August 5, 2026.
