Due to severe electricity shortage in Gaza, the condition of hospitals has become very bad. Israel’s attacks have worsened the situation, making it increasingly difficult to get treatment there. Many important medical machines have stopped and the lives of patients are in danger.

According to reports, about 50 percent of Gaza’s health services are closed because there is a severe shortage of generators and fuel. Because of this, patients have to wait a long time for X-rays and important life-saving surgeries or are not able to get treatment. On July 10 or 11, Israel launched a drone attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, injuring at least three hospital workers.

The Palestinian Health Ministry has condemned the incident, calling it a deliberate plot to target health facilities. The ministry has reported that there is a 50 percent shortage of medicines and 60 percent shortage of other essential medical supplies. Due to this huge shortage, more than a thousand patients have died so far.

According to the Gaza Government Media Office, since October 2023, 34 out of 38 hospitals there have been destroyed and now only four hospitals are functioning to some extent. Although a US-backed ceasefire was in effect from October 2025, six people were killed in new attacks on July 10.

The World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross have warned that the health crisis there is growing rapidly. These organizations have said that Israel, as an occupying power, must meet the basic needs of its people, including electricity and health services.
