As the famous line goes, “Well, that escalated quickly.” What started as what appeared to be a road rage incident in California involving a woman behind the wheel of a red C6-generation Chevrolet Corvette seemingly ended with her slashing another motorist’s tyre before speeding away through a red signal. The entire confrontation was reportedly caught on another driver’s dashboard camera.

As per the timestamp visible on the video, which was later uploaded online, the incident took place on June 30 at around 9 a.m., in what the New York Post identified as the Gardena neighbourhood of Los Angeles. The footage begins innocuously, showing the bright red Corvette moving through traffic. Soon after, a grey Acura RDX turns onto the road and appears to cut across the C6 Corvette’s path.

Immediately after the Acura moves in front of the Corvette, the Chevrolet driver shifts lanes and pulls alongside the SUV. This continues for approximately one block until the Acura moves into the left-turn lane. The Corvette then abruptly cuts across two lanes of traffic and partly enters the turning lane, pulling up next to the Acura at a red light.

At this point, the Corvette driver stops the vehicle—the reverse lights briefly flicker on, suggesting the car was shifted into Park—and after a moment, the woman driving steps out and walks towards the Acura. She appears to shout something at the other driver through the passenger-side window before moving to the SUV’s front passenger side, where she seems to stab the right-front tyre with what looks like a knife or another sharp object.

As the woman walks back to her car, the Acura’s driver steps out, quickly checks his damaged tyre, and appears to reach for the Corvette’s front-left tyre, possibly attempting to remove its valve stem. Ignoring the red light, the Corvette driver accelerates through the intersection and speeds away. By the time the sports car leaves the scene, the Acura’s tyre already appears deflated, leaving its driver standing on the road watching the C6 Corvette disappear before getting back into his SUV.
