Smriti Mandhana entered the record books in the ENG W vs IND W one-off Test, becoming the youngest player in women’s history to play 300 games in international cricket. She achieved the feat at 28 years and 357 days. The left-handed batter has represented India in 9 Tests, 120 ODIs and 171 T20Is so far.

Overall, she is the 12th woman cricketer to have competed in 300 international games. She is the third Indian woman cricketer to reach the milestone after Harmanpreet Kaur and Mithali Raj.

The ongoing match between England and India is also the first-ever women’s Test to be scheduled at Lord’s.

Mandhana batted well and managed 83 runs before returning to the dressing room. She played a big role in India’s recovery after the sub-continent team was invited to bat first by England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt.

“I was informed about the  300th international match last night. It is not easy to keep track of all the matches across formats. I can recall playing the  2017 World Cup final here at Lord’s. I didn’t perform and was not sure about my chances of playing for India. To come back and play the 300th international match at Lord’s is special.”

The 37-year-old batter amassed 58 runs in the first innings of the ENG W vs IND W one-off Test at the home of cricket. She has scored one half-century in T20Is and two fifties in ODIs at Lord’s.
