Following Julian Nagelsmann’s decision to step down as the head coach of the Germany national football team, the German Football Association (DFB) has confirmed that discussions are underway with Jürgen Klopp regarding the possibility of him taking over the position.
As reported by Sky Germany, Klopp is expected to agree to a contract that will keep him in charge of the German national side until 2030, provided that all negotiations conclude successfully.
The final round of talks between the DFB and the former Liverpool manager is scheduled to be held in New York over the upcoming weekend.
According to Sky, Klopp’s departure from his current role as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer is seen as a mere formality and will be completed once his agreement with the DFB is finalised.
The 59-year-old had assumed his position with Red Bull in January 2025, marking his first professional appointment since leaving Liverpool.
