Dacia has officially showcased its new petrol-powered Striker crossover, confirming that the Skoda Octavia competitor will be priced below £25,000 when it goes on sale in the UK in the coming months.

The Striker is a high-ground-clearance model inspired by 4x4 designs, which, according to Dacia, merges “the strengths of an SUV, estate, and saloon” into one versatile vehicle.

This new crossover marks Dacia’s second entry in the C-segment lineup, following the closely related Bigster SUV. The company also plans to introduce a third model of similar size in 2027, though its body style has not yet been disclosed.

The launch of the Striker builds on the strong performance of the Bigster, which became Europe’s top-selling C-segment SUV during the second half of 2025, just two years after its debut.

Dacia’s design director, David Durand, commented that the Striker, which shares similar dimensions with the Bigster, offers “a new and complementary answer to modern motoring expectations.”

Measuring 4.62 metres in length, the Striker is designed to “deliver the best value for money within its class,” as stated by Dacia. The entry-level version priced below £25,000 comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, digital instrument cluster, rear-view camera, and power windows for all doors.

The mid-level Expression trim, expected to cost around £26,000, introduces additional features such as alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, automatic handbrake with hold function, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, and rear-seat USB ports.

At the top of the range, the Extreme and Journey variants are projected to start from approximately £27,000. The Extreme trim is tailored for outdoor enthusiasts with washable seat covers and rubber floor mats, while the Journey trim is aimed at families, offering features like a power-operated tailgate, connected navigation, and a six-speaker surround sound system.

The Striker will be available with two full-hybrid powertrain options.

The base Hybrid 155 variant features a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor integrated into the gearbox and a 48V starter-generator, producing a combined output of 153 bhp directed to the front wheels.

The higher-end Hybrid 150 combines a 1.2-litre petrol engine driving the front wheels with an electric motor powering the rear axle, delivering a total of 148 bhp and part-time all-wheel drive capability. Enhancing its off-road performance are multiple driving modes — Snow, Mud, Sand, and Off-Road — along with a dedicated hill descent control system.

Additionally, Dacia plans to provide a wide range of optional accessories for the Striker through its rapidly expanding customisation programme, allowing buyers to further tailor the vehicle to their preferences.
