New Delhi: On Monday, July 6, BCI announced the Indian team for the T20 series against Zimbabwe. Shreyas Iyer will captain the three-match series and Tilak Verma will be the vice-captain. Rinku Singh has returned to the team, along with this 4 new players have also got a chance.
Who returned to the team, who got debut
The biggest news is the return of Rinku Singh. Rinku was not a part of the team for the tour of Ireland and England as well as the Asian Games. Now he will be seen again in blue jersey. This time there are also 4 new faces in the squad. Wicketkeeper batsman Prabhsimran Singh, fast bowler Ashok Sharma, fast bowler Yash Thakur and spinner Harsh Dubey have got a place in the T20 team for the first time.
This will be the international debut for Prabhasimran, Ashok and Yash. Harsh Dubey has played ODI before. After a long time, fast bowler Mayank Yadav has also returned. Mayank last played a match for India in October 2024.
Who is out?
Wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson has been rested in this series. 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has got a place in the team. Vaibhav made his debut against England at Old Trafford on Saturday and came in the playing-11 in place of Sanju. Apart from this, all-rounders Akshar Patel, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh have also been given rest due to workload management.
