Yemen Conflict: Houthi’s threat to Saudi Arabia, alliance said they are making noise to hide their mistakes

Tension has again increased in Yemen between the Saudi Arabia-led coalition and Houthi rebels. The coalition has clearly stated that the Houthi group is making provocative statements against Saudi Arabia only to divert the world’s attention from the atrocities being committed on the people of Yemen and their own crimes.

In statements issued on Saturday, 3 and 4 July 2026, the coalition described the rhetoric of the Houthi militia as a ploy to divert attention. The coalition has warned that if there is any attempt to harm the sovereignty of Saudi Arabia or Yemen, it will be responded to very strictly and with more force than ever before.

The dispute began when Houthi spokesman Yahya Sarea claimed that Saudi Arabian planes tried to prevent an Iranian civilian plane from landing at Sanaa International Airport. Houthi said that the plane was carrying officials and patients attending the funeral of Iran’s former supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Houthi group threatened that if Saudi Arabia continued to violate Yemen’s airspace, they would target Saudi airports and important targets there.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia has completely rejected all these allegations. Coalition spokesman Major General Turki Al-Maliki said the Houthi group is making such statements to avoid responsibility for its serious crimes committed against the people of Yemen and the economic crisis there.

The coalition also alleged that the Houthi group has carried out attacks on international trade and sea lanes in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait. It has caused massive damage to ports such as Hodeida, Ras Isa and Salif, as well as Sanaa Airport, power stations and industrial facilities.
