Now the DNA profile of the patients’ body is being examined to find out the exact cause of cancer. This modern method has been named ‘Precision Medicine’. This method of cancer treatment has emerged as a new hope of life for the victims.

How does this modern technology work?

According to health experts, every patient’s cancer is genetically different. In this technique, firstly a biopsy sample of the patient’s tumor is taken and ‘Next-Generation Sequencing’ test is done. This test decodes genetic mutations i.e. changes in DNA hidden within cancer cells. Doctors are then able to identify exactly which gene is driving the cancer and administer drugs that directly block the affected area.

Why is this life saving for patients?

It is working like a sure shot in the treatment of cancer. This therapy destroys only the cancerous cells. Apart from this, it has minimal side effects. Unlike chemotherapy, it does not cause serious symptoms like hair fall, extreme weakness or vomiting. This therapy is very effective even in advanced stage i.e. fourth stage or last stages.
