Mohamed Salah is currently dealing with a hamstring injury, and the Egyptian Football Association has not provided any updates regarding his availability for the FIFA World Cup round of 32 match against Australia. During Egypt's recent 1-1 draw with Iran, Salah was taken off the field after expressing discomfort, and medical scans later confirmed a hamstring strain, as stated by team doctor Mohamed Abou El Ela in a release from the EFA.

Injury Challenges for the Egyptian Team

In addition to Salah, Egypt is facing several injury issues. Regular left-back Ahmed Fatouh has sustained a hamstring tear, making it unlikely for him to participate in the upcoming match against Australia, according to the Egyptian Football Association. Furthermore, centre-back Mohamed Abdelmonem, who joined the FIFA World Cup following a challenging season with Ligue 1's Nice, suffered a significant ankle bruise and was substituted after just 14 minutes in the game against Iran. However, the EFA has indicated that he is working towards being fit for the match against Australia.

Egypt's Journey to the Knockout Stage

Egypt secured second place in Group G with a total of five points and is set to compete against Australia in Dallas for a chance to advance to the round of 16.
