New Delhi:Citroen has always come with the reputation of being practical, comfortable and with a dash of quirkiness. The French car maker has made a One-off SUV, a Citroen C3 Aircross, which has been transformed into a tactical SUV. It’s being called the Citroen C3 Aircross Marine Nationale; the SUV celebrates 400 years of the French Navy.

The one-off Citroen C3 Aircross gets warship paint, off-road tyres, and submarine-inspired red lighting illuminating the entire cabin. The special sub-compact SUV also gets a bespoke livery cut to resemble a navy uniform. The bodywork comes with a Storm Blue shade, set off by a Light Grey roof and Red coloured contrasting accents.

The SUV also gets a reworked bumper with additional cladding that makes it look tougher. It rides on 17-inch wheels with off-road tyres that make for great grip. Other outdoor accessories include a roof rack sized to carry the gear of navi divers, wide fender extensions, and slatted fog lights that have been influenced by the lanterns sailors once used to flash the Morse code communications. 

Apart from this, the SUV also gets tow hooks shaped after the mooring cleats on a boat, heavy-duty straps, and spot special decals across the doors and C-pillar.

On the inside, the nautical theme carries forward. It comes with submarine-themed red lighting inside the cabin. The seats come with custom red and white upholstery with anniversary badges. Even the dashboard features tri-colour blue-white-red trim.

Mechanically, the SUV remains the same as the standard model. The India-spec Citroen C3 Aircross comes with the options of either a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor on offer as well. In terms of transmission, the options include a five-speed manual gearbox, a six-speed manual unit and a six-speed torque-converter automatic unit.
