He bluntly said that fragmentation and division are continuously increasing at the global level. In such times, relying on only a few countries to maintain international rules and stability is completely wrong and risky. The question of dependence on rules raised amid global crises, the Foreign Minister made it clear in his address that at present the world is struggling with many types of geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainties. He pointed out that when the entire world depends on the decisions of one or two superpowers, the balance is bound to get disturbed. Jaishankar stressed that to deal with today’s challenges, it is necessary to follow global rules, but no single group or selected countries should have the monopoly of implementing or deciding these rules. Why is excessive dependence on some countries dangerous? Addressing the diplomats and thinkers present in Seoul, the Indian Foreign Minister said that when the dependence on a few countries increases, from supply chains to security systems, the entire world comes into trouble. The Corona epidemic and the wars that followed have proved how important decentralization is. He said that for a stable world, manufacturing, technology and decision-making power must be spread equally across the world. India and South Korea together can create a new balance. Jaishankar laid special emphasis on the fact that countries with democratic and strong economic potential like India and South Korea will have to come forward in this changing global scenario. India has always been a supporter of a multipolar world, where the sovereignty and voice of every small and big country is respected. He called for further strengthening the strategic partnership with South Korea to build a more transparent, inclusive and equitable global order in the Indo-Pacific region and around the world.
