Two major earthquakes occurred one after the other in Venezuela. The first one of 7.2 magnitude occurred at 3:34 am Indian Standard Time, 24 kilometers east-northeast of San Felipe city. The second one of 7.5 magnitude occurred at 3.35 am Indian time, 23 km south-east of Yumare town. So far, at least 32 people have died in these two powerful earthquakes, while 700 people have been injured.
32 deaths so far, more than 700 injured
Venezuela’s acting President Rodriguez has said that so far 32 people have been confirmed dead. According to the agencies engaged in relief and rescue operations, more than 700 people have been injured. He said that relief and rescue operations are continuing and the number of dead and injured may increase further. According to the government, rescue teams are busy searching for people trapped under the debris in the most affected areas. Many buildings have been heavily damaged and emergency agencies are carrying out relief efforts in the affected areas.

US President Donald Trump has expressed grief over the two major earthquakes in Venezuela. He said that both these earthquakes that hit the great people of Venezuela were of a very large scale. And a large number of people have died in this. America is fully ready and willing to help. I have instructed all the agencies of my government to be ready to take swift action. Trump described the Venezuelan people as his new and good friends. He said that America will stand with them in this hour of crisis and will provide all possible assistance.
