According to a recent update by journalist Graeme Bailey, Manchester United are encountering serious competition in their pursuit of Sunderland forward Brian Brobbey. Reports suggest that the Red Devils will have to go head-to-head with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Juventus, Stuttgart, and Atletico Madrid to secure the Dutchman’s signature this summer.

Brobbey delivered an impressive spell at the Wearside club during the previous season, producing a run of strong performances in the Premier League. The 24-year-old netted eight goals and provided one assist in 33 appearances across all competitions for the Black Cats last term.

The Dutch striker has now established himself as one of the most feared centre-forwards in the Premier League. Therefore, it comes as no shock that Manchester United are eager to bring him to Old Trafford later this year.

Brobbey’s current contract with Sunderland, which runs until the summer of 2029, could pose a challenge for the Red Devils, as the long-term deal is likely to prevent them from securing him at a discounted price during this transfer window.

Brobbey possesses a keen sense of positioning, often finding space to unleash attempts on goal. His vision allows him to create meaningful opportunities for his teammates in the attacking third, and he demonstrates impressive strength and pace when driving forward with the ball.

The Dutch forward also contributes significantly by scoring crucial goals, making him an invaluable asset to his team’s attacking setup. Given his prior experience in the Premier League, adapting to life at Manchester United should not take him much time.

Brobbey’s arrival could inject additional firepower into Michael Carrick’s attacking options at Old Trafford. His skill and work rate make him more than capable of competing with Benjamin Sesko for a consistent spot in the starting lineup over the next few seasons.

At just 24 years old, Brobbey still has his best footballing years ahead of him, making him a highly appealing target for Manchester United in this transfer window. Considering his potential and proven quality, the Red Devils would be wise to intensify their pursuit of the Sunderland striker this summer.
