Recently, senior entertainment journalist Simi Chandok shared the controversial story of this film in an interview with Siddharth Kanan. He told that when this film was being shot. At that time Rekha was only 15 years old and the hero in it was Biswajeet. For 15 years Rekha did not know anything about kissing scene. She was not told anything that there was any kissing in the film. She was doing her first film. Biswajeet indicated to the director to add a smooching scene.

Hero kissed 15 year old actress for 5 minutes

This entire scene happened during the shooting of a romantic song from Anjaana Safar at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai. The film’s director Kuljeet Pal had made a secret plan to film a kissing scene for Rekha and Biswajeet. The director wanted to capture a natural and shocking reaction of Rekha on camera. It is said that the actor kept kissing Rekha forcibly for 5 minutes because the director forgot to say cut.

It is even said that when the director said ‘action’, 32 year old Biswajit Chatterjee took 15 year old newcomer actress Rekha in his arms and started kissing her. She was not at all prepared for this scene. During this scene, she kept trying to free herself, but Biswajeet did not leave her and this sequence continued for 5 minutes. Rekha had expressed her pain regarding this many years later in 1994. He had told that he had not done that scene of his own free will. Nothing can erase the pain that I felt at that time.

Daughter called father’s actions wrong

Regarding this scene, Biswajeet always defended himself by saying that whatever he did was only as per the demand of the director and the script. However, Biswajit’s daughter Pallavi Chatterjee in an interview termed this action of her father as completely wrong. She said that her father should have either refused to do this scene or should have taken the permission of the 15-year-old girl before shooting. Let us tell you that the film Anjaana Safar remained stuck in the censor board for many years. Later it was released in 1979 with the name ‘Do Shikari’. However, the film was not successful at the box office.
