In Gujarat, a significant three-day initiative named 'Shala Praveshotsav' (school enrollment drive) along with 'Kanya Kelavani' (girl child education campaign) is scheduled to commence on June 23. This initiative aims to enroll around 28.58 lakh children in schools throughout the state. The program will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at B.N. High School in Vadnagar.
B.N. High School, notable for being the alma mater of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been chosen as the launch site for this year's enrollment campaign. Modi originally initiated this program in 2003 during his tenure as Chief Minister, aiming to maximize school enrollment and enhance educational participation.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will engage in various enrollment activities, including visits to an Anganwadi center in Vadnagar. The enrollment drive is set to take place from June 23 to June 25, encompassing approximately 38,400 schools across Gujarat.
**Encouraging Child Enrollment and Education**
The campaign will focus on enrolling children aged 5 to 6 years in 'Balvatika' (pre-primary section) and those aged 6 to 7 years into Class 1. Additionally, students who have completed Class 8 will be admitted to Class 9, while those who have finished Class 10 will be enrolled in Class 11, ensuring a seamless educational journey.
This year marks the 24th anniversary of the government's educational initiative. Throughout the three-day event, the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, cabinet ministers, and officials from IAS, IPS, and IFS will visit various schools statewide. Their involvement aims to raise awareness and promote the enrollment of as many children as possible.
**Dignitaries to Support Enrollment Efforts**
The state government has indicated that around 465 dignitaries and senior officials will take part in this campaign, visiting schools to facilitate the enrollment process. They will also engage with School Management Committees (SMCs) to evaluate academic performance, infrastructure, and other achievements. The government emphasizes that this enrollment festival will be organized with the active involvement of school management committees, parents, and local communities, with the primary goal of integrating as many children as possible into the educational system.
