Ingredients for making Paneer-Prawn Curry for two people
- 200 grams prawns, cleaned
- 1.5 tbsp mustard oil or ghee (half for gravy, half for tempering)
- 6–8 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 medium sized onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp turmeric powder (a pinch for tempering)
- 1 tsp red chilli powder (1 tsp for tempering)
- 1 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- ½ tsp chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- salt to taste
- ½ cup water or unsalted chicken stock
- 100 grams low-fat cottage cheese (smoothly blended with 50 ml water)

How to make Paneer Prawn Curry
- Pour half the mustard oil in a pan and heat it until light smoke starts coming out from it, then reduce the flame.
- Now add chopped garlic and onion. Fry until soft and golden.
- Add the prawns to the pan and cook for a minute, just until they start turning pink.
- Now add all the spices (turmeric, chilli powder, black pepper, garam masala, chilli flakes) and salt. Mix well.
- Add tomato paste and cook for two minutes.
- Add water or stock and let it cook on low flame for three to four minutes.
- Now add creamy cheese paste to it and mix slowly. Let it cook on low flame for two minutes, until the gravy becomes creamy.
for tempering
Now for tempering, add remaining mustard oil in a small pan and heat it until smoke starts coming out. Remove from flame, add a pinch each of turmeric and chilli powder and pour it directly over the curry. Add chopped coriander on top.
Now serve the prepared Paneer-Prawn Curry hot with rice or roti, chopped onions, green chillies and lemon slices.
