Barcelona, one of La Liga’s biggest clubs, are reportedly keeping tabs on Manchester United striker Benjamin Šeško as they plan for the upcoming season.
The Catalan side are currently exploring options to strengthen their attack at the Spotify Camp Nou, particularly in the centre-forward position.
Following Robert Lewandowski’s departure on a free transfer, Barcelona have made it a top priority to sign a new striker during the summer transfer window.
The Blaugrana have identified Julián Alvarez, who currently plays for Atlético Madrid, as their primary target to fill the vacant role up front.
However, with Atlético’s management expected to do everything possible to retain their prized forward, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco and his team have drawn up a list of backup options.
Among these alternatives is Manchester United’s young star Benjamin Šeško, who has caught the Spanish champions’ attention.
According to a report from Fichajes, citing Spanish outlet Marca, Barcelona are strong admirers of Šeško’s skillset and are closely following his situation at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old Slovenian international is not the only striker being monitored by the Camp Nou hierarchy. The club is also evaluating potential moves for Karl Etta Eyong of Levante and Serhou Guirassy, who currently represents Borussia Dortmund.
With several names on the shortlist, Barcelona are expected to make a final decision on their next attacking signing once the transfer market unfolds further.
