More than 22 lakh students are appearing for NEET exam

Let us tell you that more than 22 lakh students across the country are appearing for the re-examination of NEET-UG 2026. Earlier, the examination held on May 3 was canceled due to paper leak. Entry at the examination centers was done under a very strict process, in which metal detectors were also installed.

Security arrangements on high alert across the country

  • To conduct the examination safely and properly, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has made strict arrangements for security and surveillance in the exam rooms. CCTV cameras are installed in the rooms, which are being constantly monitored. Jammers provided by ECIL and BEL have also been installed.
  • NTA has deployed two invigilators in every room and more than ten officers at every centre. The number of searching staff is 38,795 and 48,448 biometric staff are present for facial recognition. In addition, around 6,700 observers, more than 100 virtual observers and an average of 40-50 security personnel are deployed at each centre.
  • Security of logistics has also been given priority. Police, paramilitary forces, Indian Air Force and Postal Department have been deployed for this. All confidential material is verified with the custodian banks.
  • NTA has also taken care of the facilities of the students. Arrangements for drinking water, ORS and ambulance have been made at the centres. Additionally, shade and seating areas have also been created for waiting parents. Apart from this, wall clocks and extra rough sheets have also been provided in the examination rooms, with separate arrangements for left-handed students. The exam time has also been extended to compensate for the time taken in entry. (ANI)
