On 20 June 2026, a second senior player from La Liga powerhouse Barcelona has thrown his support behind the club’s summer pursuit of Julián Álvarez.
This endorsement follows the growing speculation surrounding the Argentine forward’s potential move to Camp Nou.
Álvarez has reportedly been identified as Barcelona’s primary target to replace Robert Lewandowski, who is expected to depart ahead of the new season.
Although Atlético Madrid are determined to retain their prolific striker during the transfer window, discussions between the two clubs are anticipated to continue throughout the summer.
Among those within Hansi Flick’s squad who would welcome Álvarez as a teammate next season is young midfielder Marc Bernal.
Just a day after Gavi publicly voiced his support for Barcelona’s interest in the World Cup-winning striker, Bernal echoed similar sentiments on Saturday.
When asked which player he would most like to see join the Catalan side this summer, Bernal told ARA, as reported by Fabrizio Romano:
“Julián Álvarez!”
With endorsements from two of Barcelona’s promising midfielders, the club’s pursuit of the Argentine star appears to have strong backing within the dressing room.
