The Indian men’s hockey team suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat against reigning world champions Germany in their third match of the FIH Pro League 2025-26 Rotterdam leg on Friday. India dominated possession for much of the game and took the lead in the 38th minute through Jugraj Singh, who celebrated his 100th international appearance with a powerful penalty-corner conversion.
Goalkeeper Mohith HS made crucial saves to protect India’s advantage. However, Germany staged a late comeback as Justus Weigand equalised in the 56th minute before Jakob Brilla scored from a penalty corner in the final seconds to seal victory.
