During a public gathering in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah firmly addressed the issue of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Rohingya communities, stating that India is not a refuge for them. He emphasized that every illegal immigrant residing in the country will be identified and expelled. Shah warned that those who voluntarily return to their home countries will not face legal repercussions, but strict actions will be taken against those who challenge the law. This statement comes amid escalating tensions along the India-Bangladesh border, where the issue of infiltration has become a matter of national security.

Criticism of Opposition Parties

The Home Minister also launched a sharp critique against opposition parties, accusing them of providing protection to illegal immigrants for years to gain votes, which has led to significant changes in the demographic structure of border areas. Shah asserted that this is not merely a matter of illegal immigration but a direct threat to national security, social balance, and national identity. He assured that the central government is undertaking extensive measures to enhance border security and identify every infiltrator.

Border Tensions with Bangladesh

Additionally, a new controversy has emerged at the India-Bangladesh border. The Border Guard Bangladesh has claimed that the Indian Border Security Force attempted to push four individuals into Bangladesh in the Meherpur area. According to Bangladeshi officials, this attempt was thwarted due to their vigilance, leaving one man and three women stranded in the no man's land between the two countries. Bangladesh has stated that its troops and local villagers are continuously monitoring the area to prevent any illegal entries.

Ongoing Issues with Illegal Immigrants

India has consistently maintained that it has apprehended a significant number of illegal Bangladeshi nationals and has sought cooperation from Bangladesh for their repatriation. However, delays from Dhaka have stalled the return of these individuals, contributing to rising tensions at the border and deepening mistrust between the two nations.

A New Era for National Security

Nevertheless, India has entered a phase where there will be no compromise on national security. Illegal immigrants must understand that the era of unlawfully occupying Indian territory is over. The law is now prepared to deal with those who challenge the country's borders. This is a new India, ready to respond decisively and rigorously to infiltration, threats to demographic balance, and any cross-border activities.
