England announce squad for historic Lord's WTest against India: Details

England have announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming one-off Women's Test against India at Lord's, starting July 10.
This match will mark a historic first as it is the first-ever women's Test to be played at the iconic venue.
Nat Sciver-Brunt will captain England in her first Test, with seasoned players like Heather Knight, Tammy Beaumont, and Amy Jones also in the mix.

The England squad also includes five uncapped players: Alice Capsey, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Mady Villiers, Grace Potts, and Ellie Threlkeld.
Notably, several players from England's last Test against Australia in the 2024-25 Women's Ashes have been excluded from this selection.

Clare Connor backs Sciver-Brunt's leadership
Official statement
Clare Connor, the ECB's managing director of women's cricket, expressed her confidence in the squad under Sciver-Brunt's leadership.
She said, "We have selected a strong Test squad under the leadership of Nat Sciver-Brunt for what will be another historic few days at Lord's for women's cricket."
Connor emphasized how proud players are to represent England in this format and how special it would be for them to play at Lord's.

Past encounter
The last time India faced a Women's Test in England was in June 2021 at Bristol.
The match ended in a draw after India received a follow-on. Sneh Rana's unbeaten 80 off 154 balls saved the match for India. She also took four wickets in England's only innings.
Shafali Verma also contributed significantly with scores of 96 (152) and 63 (83) in India's two innings, respectively.
