The trek starts from Nirgudpada village located near Nashik. The initial route passes through fields, greenery and small streams. During monsoon, the entire area gets covered in a blanket of green, which mesmerizes the travelers.

As the altitude increases, the path becomes narrower and more difficult. In the last stage, trekkers have to pass through a small tunnel like path and an entrance built between the rocks. This experience feels like the journey of an ancient warrior.
A spectacular 360 degree view is visible from the summit.
The view seen after reaching the summit of the fort situated at a height of about 3,676 feet makes one forget all the fatigue. From here, a panoramic view of Vaitarna Lake, Trimbakeshwar hills and the far-reaching Sahyadri range is visible.

The stairs and rocks here become very slippery during the rainy season. As beautiful as trekking among the clouds looks, it can also be equally risky. Therefore, shoes with strong grip and caution are very important.
Why is it called the most exciting trek of India?
The trek to Harihar Fort is not just a journey to reach the destination, but an experience of conquering one’s own fears. Steep stairs, narrow paths, deep gorges and amazing views from the summit make it a memorable adventure. This is the reason why thousands of trekkers reach here every year and include this unique experience in the most exciting journeys of their lives.
If you want to see the confluence of adventure, nature and history, then the trek to Harihar Fort should definitely be on your bucket list. As wonderful as the pictures here look, the actual experience is much more exciting.
