Team India’s fast bowler Harshit Rana has completely recovered from knee surgery. Now he has been included in the Indian team for the third ODI against Afghanistan to be held in Chennai on Saturday (June 20). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed a day before the match that Harshit has completed his rehab at the Board’s Center of Excellence (CoE) and has joined the team in Chennai.
Harshit was out of T20 World Cup and IPL
24-year-old Harshit was injured earlier this year, just before the T20 World Cup. He suffered a knee injury during the warm-up match against South Africa, after which he was ruled out of the T20 World Cup and IPL 2026. Harshit had to undergo surgery. Now he is fully fit and has returned to Team India. Earlier, he was also included in the Indian T20 for the tour of Ireland and England. This tour of the Indian team is starting from 26th June.
India leads 2-0 in the series
India has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series by defeating Afghanistan in one-sided fashion in Dharamshala and Lucknow ODIs. Now his eyes are on a clean sweep. Arshdeep Singh is leading the fast bowling unit in this series. He is getting the support of Gurnoor Brar and Prince Yadav.
Nitish Kumar Reddy could not play in Lucknow due to quad injury. Due to this, India had to field with 5 bowlers. As a precaution, he may be rested from the third ODI also. After Harshit’s arrival in the team, the pace bowling all-rounder will not be missed.
