Naukri Nama | June 19, 2026 8:39 AM CST

Exciting news has surfaced for numerous candidates aspiring to join the Uttar Pradesh Police as Sub-Inspectors (SI). The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) phase is about to commence as part of the recruitment process for 4,543 SI positions. The Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has officially announced the schedule for this crucial stage. Candidates who have successfully passed the Document Verification and Physical Standard Test (DVPST) will now take part in the running test, which is set to occur on June 29, June 30, and July 1.

Details of the Running Test

The upcoming phase of the recruitment will evaluate the physical capabilities of the selected candidates. This running test will take place over three days, and candidates must complete the run within the specified time to qualify. This assessment is a vital component of the recruitment process, representing a significant milestone toward final selection.

Exam Centers and Participation

The Police Recruitment Board has designated 10 districts throughout the state to conduct the running test. A substantial number of candidates, approximately 12,000, are expected to participate in this phase. Each candidate will receive information regarding their assigned exam center and date through their admit cards.

Admit Card Release Information

Candidates participating in the running test can expect their admit cards to be available on the official website of the Recruitment Board. These cards will be released seven days before the test begins. It is recommended that candidates frequently check the website to stay updated on important announcements. The admit card will include details about the exam center, reporting time, and other critical instructions.

Previous Written Exam Details

The written examination for this recruitment was held on March 14 and 15, 2026, with a significant turnout from candidates statewide. Following the written test, those who passed were invited for the DV-PST (Document Verification and Physical Standard Test), where their documents were verified and physical standards assessed.

Candidate Selection Process

To advance the recruitment process, the Police Recruitment Board called candidates for the DV-PST, totaling approximately 2.7 times the number of available positions. This approach ensures that all eligible candidates have the chance to participate in the selection process, maintaining a sufficient pool for the final merit list. Candidates who have cleared the DV-PST will now proceed to the running test, after which the recruitment process will continue.
