Ranchi: Gujarati Businessman, Parimal nathwani, today won the rajya sabha seat from jharkhand. Nathwani, who contested as an independent candidate with the support of NDA clinched the victory through cross voting from Congress and other parties. He polled 28 votes which is a minimum required number.
Nathwani, defeated congress candidate Pranav Jha, a close associaite of the Congress President Mallikharjun Kharghe and the congress was expecting Jha to win. Congress alleged there was cross voting from Congress.
Nathwani,represented the Rajya sabha from Jharkhand earlier for two terms from 2008 to 2020.From 2020, he shifted to Andhra Pradesh and won rajya sabha on YSRCP ticket.
