Fulham are considering appointing former Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim as they search for a replacement following Marco Silva’s exit.
Marco Silva has left his position at Fulham to join Benfica, marking a return to his homeland where he will take charge of the Lisbon club. The Premier League side are now focused on finding a suitable successor, and Amorim has emerged as a potential candidate during their discussions.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Ruben Amorim is included in Fulham’s shortlist of managerial options. However, it remains uncertain whether the 41-year-old is open to taking up the position at Craven Cottage.
Kieran McKenna had been seen as a strong contender for the job before he announced his decision to leave Ipswich Town and take a temporary break from football management.
Other possible names being considered by the club include Coventry City manager Frank Lampard, Famalicão coach Hugo Oliveira — who has previously worked alongside Marco Silva — and Palmeiras boss Abel Ferreira.
Additionally, reports from The Athletic indicate that Fulham have held preliminary discussions with former Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa.
The Spanish tactician is currently unattached, having left the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this summer after a six-month spell in charge. Fulham are taking time to review all available options before deciding who will succeed Marco Silva.
