‘Am in a dilemma whether I am a Tamilian or a BJP worker’, Annamalai announces – will form a new party

In the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, former state president of Bharatiya Janata Party K Annamalai has resigned from the party. He had been discussing his differences with the party for 18 months. He has listed the reasons for his resignation on social media. He has also said that he was in a dilemma whether his identity was that of a Tamilian person or a Bharatiya Janata Party worker.

K Annamalai has said that his goals are big, to achieve those goals more people will have to be taken along. He has said that he has left BJP in a dignified manner, he has been wanting to resign from the party for 18 months.

What will Annamalai do now?

K Annamalai said, ‘A new path, a new movement, a new political campaign will start from today. I have left BJP in a dignified manner to start a new type of politics.

Annamalai said, ‘It has always been a matter of controversy whether I am a Tamilian or a BJP worker. I had told the party on December 4 itself that I was going to resign. The party told me to let the elections end and then go away.

Will BJP suffer loss from this decision?

When media persons asked Nainar Nagendran, state president of Bharatiya Janata Party in Tamil Nadu, whether Annamalai’s resignation would cause loss to the party in the state, he replied in just one line, ‘There will be no loss.’
