LPG Connection News: Recent nationwide LPG shortages have prompted a push for PNG connections. Meanwhile, the government in Uttar Pradesh is preparing to disconnect the LPG connections of lakhs of people.

LPG News: Shortages of LPG were recently observed across the country. Tensions between Iran and the US led to oil and gas supply issues that affected the general public in India. Consequently, the government issued new guidelines regarding LPG and PNG connections, mandating that anyone possessing a PNG connection must surrender their LPG connection. However, many have failed to comply with this directive, and the government is now planning to take action against them.

Lakhs of connections to be disconnected in this state

The government had appealed to households with PNG connections to surrender their LPG connections. Despite this, many people in Uttar Pradesh did not heed the directive. As a result, the government is now preparing to disconnect the connections of approximately 1.25 lakh (125,000) people. This situation specifically concerns the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh.

However, this news is not just about the oversight or negligence of Ghaziabad residents; it serves as a lesson for anyone continuing to avail the benefits of both connections despite government instructions. If you are also disregarding government guidelines and using both connections, you could face similar action in the future.

What does the Supply Department say?

This decision was reached during a meeting between oil companies and the Supply Department. Consequently, the LPG connections of around 1.25 lakh consumers in Ghaziabad will soon be suspended. Following this, consumers with PNG connections will no longer be able to avail LPG benefits. The department will give consumers the option to choose one of the two facilities.

It is worth noting that these connections will not be permanently terminated; rather, they can be restored if the need arises. Additionally, the department has once again appealed to people to voluntarily surrender their LPG connections; otherwise, the companies will shut them down.
