The Georgia national football team will host Bahrain at Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi for an international friendly match tonight.
The Georgia vs Bahrain game is scheduled to kick off at 11:00 PM WIB on Friday, June 5, 2026.
Neither of these teams will be participating in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With several world-class players in their ranks, including Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Giorgi Mamardashvili, Georgia will be disappointed to have missed out on qualification for the World Cup. However, their focus will now shift to the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches later this year.
This friendly against Bahrain, along with another match played on Tuesday where Georgia drew 1-1 with Romania, serves as preparation for the Crusaders ahead of their Nations League fixtures against Northern Ireland, Ukraine, and Hungary starting in September.
In the draw against Romania, Giorgi Kvilitaia opened the scoring early in the second half before Louis Munteanu equalised for Romania in the 55th minute.
Meanwhile, Bahrain has not been active on the international stage since competing in the FIFA Arab Cup in December.
They are looking forward to this fixture against Georgia, followed by another friendly match against Syria on June 9.
These matches are an essential part of Bahrain’s preparation for the AFC Asian Cup scheduled for January 2027.
Nicknamed the Pearl Divers, Bahrain will play against North Korea, Jordan, and Uzbekistan in the group stage of the continental tournament.
Head-to-Head: Georgia vs Bahrain
Georgia and Bahrain have never faced each other before, making this their first-ever meeting on the football field.
According to the current FIFA world rankings, Georgia sits at 72nd globally, while Bahrain is positioned at 84th.
Bahrain’s journey in the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup ended in the group stage after suffering defeats to Iraq (2-1) and Algeria (5-1), before managing a 3-1 victory over Sudan.
Match Prediction: Georgia vs Bahrain
Georgia plays with a disciplined structure and relies heavily on the individual brilliance of Kvaratskhelia, who has demonstrated his lethal form on the left wing and in attack for Paris Saint-Germain this season.
Bahrain, on the other hand, employs a compact defensive setup while pushing forward with quick transitions along the flanks.
Given that Georgia will play at home, the Crusaders are expected to edge out a narrow win.
Predicted Score: Georgia 2 - 1 Bahrain
