TRIBUNNEWS.COM - Every national team participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup has officially announced the players who will represent them in the world’s most prestigious football tournament.

The 2026 World Cup will mark a new chapter in football history, as it will feature 48 nations for the first time, a significant increase from the previous format that included only 32 teams.

This change in format has drawn attention from several football observers.

Football analyst Adrian from Spietalg Indonesia believes that the new system essentially extends the knockout phase, although it also adds excitement and diversity to the competition.

“It’s basically just postponing the climax,” said Adrian during Tribunnews’ podcast titled “SUPER TACTIC: The Power Map of the 2026 World Cup and Indonesia’s Dream.”

He further explained that the inclusion of more teams brings a fresh dynamic to the tournament, with the return of nations that have long been absent as well as those making their debut on the world stage.

“There are many nations playing for the first time or returning after a very long absence,” he added.

Adrian also highlighted the challenge of player fitness, noting that many top European leagues will conclude just before the tournament begins.

“The title favourites must manage their players’ fitness levels carefully to stay fresh through the knockout rounds,” he remarked.

The full squad lists for all 48 participating countries in the 2026 FIFA World Cup — which will take place across the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19 — are as follows. A total of 1,248 players are set to participate in this historic edition.
