The transfer saga surrounding Manchester United’s pursuit of Éderson has finally come to an end. The Premier League club has reached an agreement with Atalanta Bergamo and the Brazilian midfielder, as confirmed by reports from 'The Athletic', transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, and the 'BBC'.
Manchester United will pay a total of €45 million, including performance-related bonuses, to secure the signing of the 26-year-old midfielder as part of their summer rebuild.
Éderson is expected to travel to Manchester soon for his mandatory medical tests before the move is officially completed. Once that is done, he is set to sign a four-year contract with the Red Devils, with an option to extend for an additional year.
The Brazilian international, who prefers playing as a central midfielder, enjoyed an impressive campaign with Atalanta last season. He featured in 41 competitive matches across all competitions, including 30 appearances in Serie A and nine in the UEFA Champions League.
Éderson’s arrival is expected to strengthen Manchester United’s midfield and provide a long-term replacement for Casemiro, who has been a key player since joining from Real Madrid. The deal also underlines United’s intent to rejuvenate their midfield with younger, dynamic talent as they prepare for the upcoming season.
