Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra 2026 Dates: Jagannath Puri Dham of Odisha is included in the Char Dham. Every year the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is taken out here. Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is a very ancient religious festival of the country. A wonderful confluence of faith, devotion and tradition is seen in this journey. This Rath Yatra starts from Jagannath Temple in Puri city. This festival is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, his elder brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra Devi. This grand Rath Yatra will conclude on 24 July 2026. On this day there will be Bahuda Yatra i.e. return journey. Chariot of Lord Jagannath
For Jagannath Rath Yatra, separate grand chariots are built for the three deities. Nandi Ghosh, the chariot of Lord Jagannath, has 16 wheels and 332 pieces of wood are used in it. Its height is 45 feet. The color of Lord Jagannath's chariot is red and yellow. The construction work of the chariot starts from the day of Akshaya Tritiya. Lord Hanuman and Narasimha are depicted as symbols on his chariot. He remains at the back in the Rath Yatra.
Chariot of Balabhadra and Subhadra ji
Balbhadra ji's chariot Taladhwaj has 14 wheels. Balabhadra ji is the elder brother of Lord Jagannath. That's why his chariot remains at the forefront in the journey. The height of his chariot is 44 feet. His chariot is decorated in blue colour. Subhadra ji's chariot Darpadalan has 12 wheels. Its height is 43 feet. His chariot remains in the middle. Black color is used to decorate the chariot of Subhadra ji. Devotees pull these chariots with utmost devotion and enthusiasm. It is considered a symbol of devotion and dedication.
