Lucknow: The problems of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have once again become a headache for the students. There was a wave of happiness among the students when the portal became active after a long wait for revaluation and verification of answer sheets. But this happiness proved to last only for a few hours.
As soon as the portal was launched, there was a flood of complaints from students on social media. After login, problems like screen freezing, frequent errors and system crashing were encountered. Many students also shared videos of online irregularities on the portal. The board had to reactivate the portal after the controversy.
More than 4 lakh students affected
This time, more than 4,04,319 students have been directly affected by the problem with CBSE’s revaluation, verification and photocopy portal. All these students were hoping to get their answers checked this year.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had estimated some time ago that due to the on-screen marking system, about 1 in 5 students may apply for revaluation or verification. The board was expecting around 80,000 applications, but the portal glitch brought the entire system to a standstill.
Complaints were coming continuously in the past days also
Since the declaration of class 12th results, students and parents are continuously worried. Earlier, complaints like glitches in the payment gateway, over-deduction of money, receipt not being received, login failure and scanned answer sheets being blurry or incomplete were reported. Now even after the portal is activated, technical problems still persist.
The anger of students and parents is at its peak. Despite long wait and repeated assurances, frequent malfunctions of CBSE portal are playing with the future of students.
Appeal to CBSE students
Try again and again on the portal. The board has claimed to have rectified the problem, but students are being advised to keep screenshots and videos safe.
