Spain’s national team coach, Luis de la Fuente, has delivered positive news regarding Barcelona’s young sensation, Lamine Yamal, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This statement also answers the curiosity of Bali United’s young defender, Kadek Arel Priyatna, who previously predicted that Yamal would be one of the standout players in the world’s biggest football tournament.
Kadek Arel had earlier highlighted Yamal’s performance, believing that the teenager was ready to prove his quality on the global stage with the Spanish national team.
“It’s not really a surprise, but I think Lamine Yamal will show who he truly is in his first World Cup,” Kadek Arel told Tribun Bali some time ago.
That confidence from the Bali United player has now received encouraging confirmation as Luis de la Fuente assured that Yamal’s condition is steadily improving.
As is known, Yamal suffered a hamstring injury at the end of the 2025–2026 season while playing for Barcelona.
The injury initially led many to believe the 18-year-old might miss the early stages of the 2026 World Cup.
However, his name remains on Spain’s official squad list for the tournament, which will be held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
De la Fuente emphasized that Spain’s coaching staff have been closely monitoring Yamal’s recovery progress with Barcelona.
He even expressed optimism that the young winger will be ready to play from the opening group-stage match.
“First of all, we believe he will arrive in great condition,” said Luis de la Fuente, as quoted by BolaSport.com from Mundo Deportivo.
“We stay in constant communication with the club, which provides us with daily updates on his recovery.”
“We’re confident he’ll be in top shape, and I can even say he’ll be ready for the first match.”
“Nevertheless, we’ll continue to monitor his progress,” he added.
Yamal’s presence is indeed a crucial element in Spain’s ambition to clinch the 2026 World Cup title.
Wearing jersey number 19, Yamal previously delivered a stellar performance that helped Spain win the Euro 2024 championship.
His maturity and composure at such a young age have made him a central figure in La Roja’s attacking play.
Last season with Barcelona, Yamal recorded an impressive 24 goals and 18 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.
Those statistics also helped Barcelona secure the La Liga title.
Yamal’s sharpness, speed, and creativity in the attacking line have led many analysts to label him as one of the most dangerous young players to watch at the 2026 World Cup.
Not only Kadek Arel but also many football fans in Bali are eagerly looking forward to Yamal’s performance with Spain.
The World Cup atmosphere is expected to once again enliven the Island of the Gods, with numerous public viewing events set to take place in cafes, restaurants, and hotels.
According to information from the Bali Regional Broadcasting Commission, the official broadcasting rights for the 2026 World Cup in Indonesia have been granted to TVRI and Vidio.
Therefore, businesses in Bali that wish to host public screenings of the 2026 World Cup must obtain proper licenses or commercial broadcasting permits.
The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, featuring a new format with 48 participating nations.
