America’s President Donald Trump is about to turn 80 and he remains in the news every day regarding his health report. According to some reports, he is 108 kg. Along with this, in the annual medical report recently released by the White House, Trump has been described as being in ‘excellent health’, but at the same time, doctors have also advised him to lose weight and increase physical activities. After the report came out, a new debate has started in America regarding his fitness and health.
White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella said in a medical memo that Trump’s heart, lungs, neurological system and overall physical function are very strong. The report claimed that his mental and physical abilities are ‘excellent’ and he is completely fit to perform all the responsibilities of the President and Commander-in-Chief.
How much did Trump’s weight increase in one year?
According to the report, Trump’s weight has increased in the last one year. In medical examination, his height was recorded as 6 feet 3 inches and weight was 238 pounds i.e. about 108 kilograms. In April 2025, his weight was approximately 224 pounds i.e. 101.6 kg. In this way, his weight increased by about 6.5 kg in one year. Doctors have advised him to adopt a better diet, do regular exercise and lose weight. It has also been recommended to continue low-dose aspirin.
What was said about the marks on the hands and swelling of the feet?
In recent months, many questions were raised about the blue marks visible on Trump’s hands and swelling in his feet. This has also been mentioned in the medical report. According to doctors, the marks visible on Trump’s hands are due to constantly shaking hands with people and taking aspirin. Slight swelling was observed in the lower part of the legs, although the report said that it is in better condition than last year. It was also told in the report that Trump was earlier informed about chronic venous insufficiency i.e. a problem to veins, due to which he has been complaining of swelling in his legs.
What was found in neurological examination?
According to the medical report, Trump was subjected to a comprehensive neurological examination, in which no abnormality was found. Doctors said that his cranial nerves, strength, sensitivity, reflexes, balance and walking ability remained normal. Not only this, Trump also gave the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test. This test is usually done to check for early signs of dementia or mental weakness. According to Dr. Barbabella, Trump scored full 30 out of 30 in this test.
AI based ECG report also discussed
Another interesting claim was made in the report. According to AI-assisted electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis, Trump’s “cardiac age” was estimated to be approximately 14 years younger than his actual age. However, many experts have raised questions on this conclusion. Axios reports that some doctors say that “cardiac age” is not a standard medical diagnosis and cannot be considered conclusive evidence of health.
Questions raised on Trump’s health report
Jonathan Renner, cardiologist of former US Vice President Dick Cheney, said that the report does not answer many important questions. He asked why heart CT scans were being done again and again? Were complaints like daytime fatigue or sleepiness investigated? If the heart is completely healthy then why is there a need for aspirin? Bob Wachter, head of the Department of Medicine at the University of California, said that usually a physical checkup is done once a year, but this was Trump’s fourth public medical checkup in his second term.
What did Trump himself say?
Before the release of the report, Trump had claimed on his social media platform Truth Social that his medical test was “perfectly”. On Sunday he said that he had also performed well in the cognitive test.
Medical reports have been in controversies earlier also
Controversies regarding Trump’s health are not new. During the 2016 election campaign, his doctor claimed that Trump would be “the healthiest president in American history.” Later the same doctor said that the letter was dictated by Trump himself. Even in the 2024 election campaign, Trump had promised to make his medical records public, but did not do so. This is the reason why every medical report of his becomes a part of political and public debate.
How much influence in electoral politics?
The age and health of candidates is always a big issue during presidential elections in America. The opposition has been continuously raising questions about Trump’s fitness and age. In such a situation, this medical report of the White House is also considered very important politically. However, issues like weight gain, handprints and swelling of feet have once again brought Trump’s health at the center of public debate. In the coming time, this matter may become a topic of greater discussion in American politics.
