Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford continues to focus on his goal of earning a permanent move to Barcelona, showing no signs of concern despite the arrival of fellow England international Anthony Gordon. The 29-year-old forward is relying on personal assurances from manager Hansi Flick, even as the Spanish champions hesitate to activate their purchase option.

Defiant statement on social media

Rashford recently shared a series of training photos on Instagram, captioning them with “Keep it moving,” a clear reflection of his determination to ignore external distractions and concentrate solely on his game.

The post comes at a pivotal moment for the Manchester United loanee, whose future at Camp Nou has come under scrutiny following Gordon’s signing. While many view the new addition as a sign that Barcelona may not retain Rashford beyond the summer, other reports suggest that there is still a window of opportunity for him to stay.

Flick’s continued support

As per Mundo Deportivo, Rashford is eager to extend his stay in Catalonia rather than return to Old Trafford. The English winger is counting on private reassurances from Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, who has reportedly told the player that he is pleased with his tactical contributions and wants him in the squad for the upcoming season.

The primary obstacle remains financial. Barcelona’s loan deal includes a €30 million option to buy, which would secure Rashford on a three-year contract. However, the transfer depends on the club’s ability to create sufficient financial flexibility under La Liga’s stringent salary regulations.

Unbothered by Gordon’s arrival

Sources close to Rashford claim he is completely unfazed by Barcelona’s high-profile €80 million signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. Rashford was reportedly aware of the club’s advanced talks with his international teammate well before the deal was concluded.

Since Barcelona’s management has not officially informed Rashford that he is no longer part of their plans, the forward remains composed. He has also instructed his representatives to hold off on serious discussions with other European clubs monitoring his situation.

Determined to avoid return to Old Trafford

With his Manchester United contract running until 2028, Rashford views the coming weeks as crucial in determining his long-term future. He is intent on persuading Barcelona to activate the €30 million buy option before the pre-season begins, aiming to make his stay at Camp Nou permanent.

Last season, Rashford featured in 49 matches across all competitions for Barcelona, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists.
