Patrik Schick, the Czech Republic’s star striker, will spearhead their campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

BOLASPORT.COM – The Czech Republic’s 2026 World Cup squad features several senior players, yet every name chosen by coach Miroslav Koubek will be making their tournament debut.

The Czech national team secured a victory in their final warm-up match before the 2026 World Cup on Sunday (31 May 2026).

Playing in Prague, the team defeated Kosovo 2-1.

Immediately after the match, coach Koubek officially announced his final 26-man squad for the global tournament.

Most of the players chosen by Koubek are seasoned professionals with extensive international experience.

Eight members of the squad are aged over 30 and boast dozens of caps for the national team.

Among them are Vladimir Darida, Jaroslav Zeleny, Vladimir Coufal, Tomas Soucek, and Patrik Schick.

Schick, who plays for Bayer Leverkusen, is expected to be the key figure for the Czech Republic at the 2026 World Cup.

The prolific forward netted five goals during the European qualifying campaign.

Koubek has also included several promising youngsters, with six players still eligible for the Under-23 category.

One standout is Sparta Prague’s 17-year-old prodigy, Hugo Sochurek, who was promoted to the senior team only last year.

Interestingly, even though the Czech squad is a blend of veterans and young talents, all 26 players share one thing in common.

When they step onto the field in the upcoming tournament, every single one will be making their World Cup debut.

The reason lies in the country’s long absence from the tournament.

The Czech Republic last appeared at a World Cup in 2006, when the team featured legends such as Pavel Nedved, Jan Koller, Marek Jankulovski, Tomas Rosicky, and Milan Baros.

The youngest player in that 2006 squad was goalkeeper Petr Cech, who was just 24 years old at the time.

Cech retired at the end of the 2018–2019 season.

The oldest player in the current Czech squad, Vladimir Darida, was only 15 when his nation last played in a World Cup.
