New Delhi. The Central Government is going to launch a big national campaign from June 1 with the aim of increasing the income of the country’s farmers, reducing the cost of farming and improving the quality of the soil. This special program named “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” will operate across the country till June 30, 2026. During this period, agricultural scientists, agriculture department officials and experts will directly reach the villages and give information about modern and sustainable farming to the farmers.
Emphasis on making farming profitable
The government believes that increasing production costs and decreasing soil fertility have become a big challenge for the farmers. Keeping this in mind, during the campaign, farmers will be made aware about balanced fertilizer use, organic farming and better management of natural resources.
Farming advice according to season
In view of the changing weather and climate challenges, farmers will be given special guidance on crop selection and farming strategy in the campaign. Scientists will reach the fields and tell which crops can be more profitable in the current circumstances and what options are available for farming with less water.
Focus on providing benefits of schemes
During the campaign, those farmers who have not yet been able to avail the benefits of various government schemes will also be identified. Efforts will be made to link such farmers with PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and other agricultural welfare schemes. Farmers will be encouraged towards modern farming by providing information about agricultural equipment and technical facilities at the Panchayat level.
Thousands of teams will be deployed across the country
To make this campaign successful, major responsibility has been assigned to Krishi Vigyan Kendras. More than 1650 teams will visit villages across the country and interact directly with farmers. Special attention will be given to those districts where use of chemical fertilizers is excessive. There expert teams will give information to the farmers about balanced farming and soil conservation measures.
