Liverpool has confirmed on Sunday that centre-back Ibrahima Konate will leave the club after failing to agree a new contract.
While the French international said last month he was confident of agreeing a new deal, the club and the player didn’t achieve a breakthrough in negotiations.
Konate joins Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson as the other key player to leave the club at the end of a disappointing campaign.
Konate, 27, who joined the Reds in 2021, won the Premier League, FA Cup and two League Cup titles.
“Liverpool FC can confirm Ibrahima Konate is set to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract this summer,” the club said in a statement.
“Konate will depart with our gratitude and appreciation for the contribution he made and everyone at the club wishes him the best for the future.”
After a title-winning 2024-25 season, Konate’s form dipped drastically in the recently concluded campaign.
Konate has been linked with a move to European champions Paris Saint-Germain.
