The makers of Cocktail 2 may have been promoting a new song, but it was a light-hearted moment between the film’s stars that grabbed attention this week.
Actors Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon appeared together at a promotional event on Friday, days after a short clip from the film’s music launch went viral online.
An earlier viral video showed Shahid placing his hand on Rashmika’s shoulder while posing for photographers. But Rashmika quickly moved back, leading some social media users to speculate that she felt uncomfortable.
Neither actor commented on the clip at the time.
But at the latest event, the 45-year-old actor appeared to poke fun at the online discussion.
While posing with the Pushpa and the Crew actress, he stepped back in a playful manner, seemingly referencing the viral moment.
Kriti immediately burst into laughter, while Rashmika smiled and was heard telling him that she did not mean anything by it.
The exchange quickly spread online, with many fans saying it showed there was no awkwardness between the two actors.
The moment comes as Cocktail 2 continues to stay in the spotlight ahead of its 19 June release.
Recently, the film’s song Work sparked debate after some online users claimed it resembled the 1993 Italian track If You Know How to Steal Grandma.
Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 is a sequel to the 2012 film Cocktail.
