News from Serie A suggests that AS Roma and Atalanta are showing interest in a struggling AC Milan player, though negotiations currently seem impossible.

Ardon Jashari has reportedly caught the attention of both Atalanta and AS Roma during the summer transfer window.

However, with AC Milan currently lacking formal management, there is no representative available for negotiation.

Ardon Jashari arrived in Milan last summer for a transfer fee of approximately €37 million.

Expectations were high given the lengthy negotiations and the investment involved.

Yet, the season turned out to be a disappointment for the Swiss international, who failed to make a significant impact.

There were some flashes of quality, such as his assist for Rafael Leao against Como, but he is largely viewed as a failed signing so far.

Whether he stays with the club for next season remains an open question.

No management to negotiate with

Reports suggest that despite his poor season, both Atalanta and AS Roma remain interested in Jashari.

Both clubs have reached out to his representatives, expressing their willingness to explore a deal.

However, as Gerry Cardinale has dismissed AC Milan’s entire management team, there is currently no one authorized to negotiate transfers.

This means that all transfer activities, including Jashari’s potential sale, are temporarily on hold.

Jashari has also been called up to represent Switzerland in the 2026 World Cup in June, which could further raise his market profile if he performs well.

Manchester United flop could be sold for as little as €20 million this summer

AS Roma are reportedly reigniting their interest in Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee.

The Dutch striker, once again linked with a return to Serie A, is believed to be available for a fee in the region of €20–25 million.

This would represent a substantial drop from the €42 million Manchester United paid Bologna for his services in 2024.

Zirkzee’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain, as he has struggled to fully adapt to life in England.

With manager Michael Carrick preparing for another crucial summer, changes in the attacking lineup seem likely.

Manchester United have secured Champions League qualification after a strong finish to the season, which enhances their transfer appeal but also raises expectations for the squad.

Zirkzee joined Manchester United with high expectations

Zirkzee’s move to United was met with great enthusiasm. His form at Bologna—marked by technical skill, link-up play, and intelligence—made him one of Serie A’s most exciting forwards.

Manchester United completed his €42 million transfer in July 2024, viewing him as a complementary option to Rasmus Hojlund.

However, his time at United has not unfolded as hoped. Although talented, he has struggled to consistently match the Premier League’s pace and intensity.

His 2025–26 Premier League statistics—two goals and one assist from five starts and 17 substitute appearances—highlight his marginal role in the team.

This explains Roma’s continued interest. Zirkzee is familiar with Italian football, and his best performances came in Serie A.

While not a traditional box striker, Roma could deploy him in a more flexible attacking role, perhaps as a left-sided attacking midfielder or second striker.

A return to Serie A could revive Zirkzee’s career

Many observers believe a move back to Italy could reignite his career, with suggestions that he could operate as a left-sided trequartista for Roma.

For Manchester United, the main question is whether selling him now would be premature.

Accepting €20–25 million would mean a clear financial loss on their initial investment. However, if Carrick does not see him as central to his project, United might prefer to sell and reinvest the funds elsewhere.

Roma had already monitored Zirkzee earlier in the season, but a January transfer did not materialize due to managerial changes at United and a desire to reassess his situation.

Now, with Roma returning to the Champions League after seven years, their renewed interest seems stronger than ever.

Manu Kone could leave AS Roma as club faces financial pressure

Despite qualifying for the Champions League, AS Roma may still be forced to sell Manu Kone this summer.

Inter Milan had previously shown interest in the French midfielder, who has been one of Roma’s standout performers over the past two seasons.

While Inter now appear more focused on signing Curtis Jones, Kone’s future remains uncertain.

Reports indicate that Roma’s new sporting director, Tony D’Amico, has been tasked with generating player sales to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

The club reportedly needs to raise around €60 million in capital gains to remain within financial limits, making Kone a prime candidate for departure.

It is believed that Kone’s focus on Roma has waned recently. His decision to train alone before the Verona match was seen as a sign that he may be considering a move.

Roma interpret this as an indication that both the club and player are open to a transfer, with Inter Milan and PSG among the interested sides.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s team reportedly value Kone at €50 million, which would represent a major profit considering his current book value is €11 million.

Given Roma’s financial needs, they might even accept an offer of around €40 million plus bonuses.

Roma have limited options

At present, Manu Kone is likely Roma’s most valuable asset. Goalkeeper Mile Svilar holds similar value, but he has shown no desire to leave, which is significant for the club.

Defender Evan Ndicka also carries considerable market value and, like Kone, could be sold since he joined on a free transfer.

With the World Cup approaching, Kone’s market price could rise even further, a prospect that Gasperini is reportedly counting on as Roma prepare to find potential replacements.
