Garuda Purana is one of the 18 Mahapuranas of Sanatan Dharma, which tells about the life, death and karma cycle of a person. In this, special things have been said about the deeds of a person. In Garuda Purana, karma is mainly divided into three parts, sinful karma, virtuous karma and mixed karma. On the basis of these deeds, a person gets sorrow or wealth in the next life. Now the question arises that what types of deeds come in these categories of deeds. Also the question arises that on the basis of which deeds people become rich or poor in the next life.

What are the types of karma?

virtuous deeds – A person who works for the welfare of others in his life, donates to the poor, serves parents and does temple service, these types of deeds are considered virtuous deeds in Garuda Purana.
sinful deeds – If a person, during his lifetime, harasses others, snatches away the rights of any person, commits crimes like theft, murder and forgery, then these deeds have been kept in the category of sinful deeds.
Mixed Karma – People who do not have good thoughts in their mind, but they also do good things, like helping others in difficult situations. This type of karma is called mixed karma.

According to Garuda Purana, after the death of a person, a meeting of Yamraj is held, where a complete account of the person’s deeds is given. On the basis of this, the outline of the person’s next birth is decided.

1. To donate – According to Garuda Purana, a person who always has a feeling of giving to others instead of taking something from others, does not lack money in the next life.
2. Temple service – Those who clean the temple and also visit the temple and have darshan of God, they get happiness and prosperity in the next life.
3. Service to elders – Those who serve their parents and gurus get the blessings of elders, which helps them get a good family in the next life.

Sadness comes from bad deeds

1. Taking away rights – When we snatch the rights of others in this life, like snatching land or money or stealing, then we have to face poverty in the next life.
2. To cheat – A person who betrays someone in friendship or love is born in a family in the next life where he does not get love from the family.
3. Cruelty – Those who torture or beat others have to face loneliness in the next life.
