IMD Alert: Heavy rain and storm in 17 states in 36 hours

Amidst the scorching heat in the country, the Meteorological Department has now given news of great relief to the people. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and storm in a total of 17 states including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar on May 27.

Weather Update: Amidst the scorching heat across the country, a major change in the weather can now be seen. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rain, strong thunderstorm and thunderstorm in 17 states of the country for the next 36 hours. In many areas the wind speed can reach 80 to 90 kilometers per hour.

After this warning, the administration and farmers have been advised to be especially cautious, because there is a possibility of damage to crops due to strong winds and rain.

Alert of heavy rain and storm in 17 states

According to the Meteorological Department, the states where alert has been issued include Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and western parts of Madhya Pradesh. In these areas, incidents of heavy rain, strong winds and lightning can be seen.

There is a possibility of change in weather in National Capital Region Delhi between 27 to 29 May. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain with strong thunderstorm, in which the wind speed can be 55 to 60 kilometers per hour. However, temperatures will still remain high during the day and the maximum temperature may reach 43 degrees Celsius.

Danger of stormy rain in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand

In Uttar Pradesh, alert of moderate to heavy rain has been issued in many districts including Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bareilly, Lucknow, Agra, Noida, Prayagraj. The Meteorological Department said that during this period strong winds can blow at a speed of 70 to 75 kilometers per hour. This will provide relief from the heat, but there is also a possibility of waterlogging at the local level and damage to crops.

Heavy rain and thunderstorm is expected in many districts including Patna in Bihar. There has also been a warning of thunderstorm in many areas. Whereas in Jharkhand, there may be a situation of heavy rain and storm in areas like Deoghar, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Jamshedpur. Here the wind speed can reach 65 to 70 kilometers per hour.

Alert issued in hilly states also

There is a possibility of heavy rain in West Bengal and Odisha also. There will be strong winds along with thunderstorms in these states. This change in weather is being seen due to the seasonal system formed around the Bay of Bengal in Eastern India. Alert of storm and rain has also been issued in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

In Uttarakhand, winds can blow at a speed of 65 to 75 kilometers per hour, while in Himachal there is a possibility of heavy rain and landslide like situation.
